Student Welfare Service

General information

The Student Welfare Service belongs to the Department of Higher Education and is responsible for providing State student welfare. State student welfare means student sponsorships and student allowances paid under the State Student Welfare Laws of 2015 to 2019. Students’ families may qualify, subject to certain socio-economic criteria, for a student sponsorship or student allowances for each academic year.

Application forms

Applications for student sponsorships and student allowances must be submitted to the Student Welfare Service using appropriate for this purpose form.

Applications for State student welfare (student sponsorship or student allowances) must be submitted by no later than 31 March of the current academic year.

Completed applications must be handed in at a local Citizen Service Centre or Citizen Centre. Please note that printed application forms are not provided at a local Citizen Service Centre or Citizen Centre and applicants must print and complete their application beforehand.
