Welcome to the Cyprus Department of Higher Education Website.

Welcome to the website of the Department of Higher Education. Browsing the website of our Department, you will find information related to the mission, the objectives and the work performed by the Department of Higher Education. You will also find information about the European and International Higher Education Area. The main objectives of the Department of Higher Education, as set in the Strategic Planning of the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, are the following:
  1. to promote the quality of Higher Education in Cyprus,
  2. to ensure equal access to Higher Education for all
  3. to help establish Cyprus as a Regional and an International Center of Higher Education.
The promotion of the above objectives is the primary goal of the Department of Higher Education, and of the Services, which administratively are under the Department- that is the Examination Service and the Students Affairs Service.

At the same time, priority for the Department of Higher Education is the support of the Institutions of Higher Education of Cyprus, in order to enhance their contribution, within the framework of their academic work and research, to the solutions of problems faced by the modern world with emphasis to the problems faced by the Cyprus society.
