Admission Criteria
Applications from candidates from EU Member States
Students seeking admission to a Public University and/or Public Institution of Tertiary Education must have a Secondary School Leaving Certificate or other equivalent qualification and must have secured a place on the Program of Study of their choice. Students seeking admission to the Higher Hotel Institute of Cyprus must pass the Pancyprian Examinations conducted every year by the Examinations Service of the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth (MOECSY). Additional information can be found here.Students seeking admission to a Private University or Private Institution of Tertiary Education must have a Secondary School Leaving Certificate or other equivalent qualification and any other qualifications, depending on the Program and the level of study which are in the Institution’s Prospectus.
Applications from candidates from Third Countries
Students from Third Countries must obtain an entry permit from the Civil Registry and Migration Department in order to enter Cyprus.Within 10 days of arriving in Cyprus, students must also apply to the Civil Registry and Migration Department for a residence permit.
Students can obtain information on the procedure for obtaining a visa/entry permit for Cyprus from the Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of Cyprus in their country of origin. Information on all the documents required to obtain a visa/entry permit to study at an Institution of Tertiary Education in Cyprus and the documents required to obtain a residence permit in the Republic of Cyprus can be found on the website of the Civil Registry and Migration Department.
