Educational exhibition in Athens on October 13th and 14th, 2019
The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the Cyprus Embassy's Trade Center in Athens, the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth (MOECSY), organized on October 13th and 14th , 2019, an educational exhibition in Athens. Representatives of the Department of Higher Education of the MOECSY, the Cyprus Universities, three Public and five Private, the Cyprus School of Molecular Medicine and the Cyprus Institute participated in the aforementioned educational fair.The Minister of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth and the Director of the Department of Higher Education of the MOECSY, who were in Athens for an official visit, as well as the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus in Athens visited the educational fair.
During the fair, a presentation of the Cyprus Higher Education was held in the "Golden Room" of the Hotel "Grande Bretagne" by the representative of the Department of Higher Education of the MOECSY. Many visitors of the Educational fair attended the presentation.
The mission also went to the Papagou - Holargos Town Hall where, in collaboration with the Mayor and the Directors of the three Municipal High Schools, about 150 pupils gathered. The pupils were informed about the Higher Education of Cyprus and were given the opportunity to ask questions to the representatives of the Cyprus Higher Education Institutions.
There was a keen and targeted interest from the visitors of the exhibition as well as the pupils gathered at the Papagou – Holargos Town Hall, in the courses offered by the three Public and five Private Universities and the two other Higher Education Institutions, which participated in the exhibition. A lot of material and information was provided to all, prospective students, parents, teachers and counsellors.
Through discussions between the representatives of the Department of Higher Education of the MOECSY on the one hand, and the exhibition visitors and the pupils and their teachers at the Papagou – Holargos Town Hall on the other, Ιt was reaffirmed, once again, that many Greek prospective students are very interested in studying in Cyprus and that they have a very positive attitude towards Cyprus Universities and other Higher Education Institutions considering them an important and qualitative option for undergraduate and postgraduate studies. The importance of the co-operation of various stakeholders of Cyprus, organizations, Ministries and others, in promoting the Cyprus Higher Education System abroad and attracting many and high quality students, was also reaffirmed through the experience of the participation of the MOECSY Department of Higher Education in the educational exhibition in Athens.
