Philips UniversityThe license to operate Philips University consisting of three schools, seven departments, and 8 undergraduates and one postgraduate programme, MSc in Corporate Finance with Corporate Governance was granted by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus, at their meeting on 15 October, 2019 ref. decision number 88.356 with retrospective validity from 5 February 2013.
Philips University is accredited by the Cyprus agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Higher Education (CYQAA), after undergoing a successful institutional evaluation.
Prior to this license, the Philips College, which is still operating, has successfully operated for forty-two years as an institution of Higher Education, registered with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth of the Republic of Cyprus.
PremisesThe University is privileged with regards to its location in Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. Situated on the periphery of the centre of Nicosia, in the suburb of Acropolis, the University stands on premises facing Veria Park.
The University operates from well-designed state-of-the art, custom built premises which meet all the educational requirements of a modern University.

Governing BodiesPhilips University is a private corporate body. It is governed by the Council and the Senate. The Schools and Departments are administrated by Councils and, each School is headed by a Dean. The University charter and internal rules and regulations govern all governing bodies and positions.
The CouncilThe Council of the University is the highest administrative body of the University. It is responsible for the administration of all matters which concern the University, including financial matters, infrastructure, supervision of administrative and other staff, the number of students for admission and student affairs. The Council of the University approves the hiring of academic staff that is carried out by the Senate.
The SenateThe Senate constitutes the highest academic body of the University and is responsible for the general supervision on the operation of the University, the adherence to internal regulation and the law. The Senate is responsible for all the academic work carried out by the University such as scientific research, teaching, and all other academic activities. The Senate is chaired by the Rector who is assisted by Vice-Rectors.
RectorThe Rector overseas the operation of the University, the functioning of the Schools, Departments and Services of the University, the adherence to the laws, the Internal Regulations, and also promotes cooperation between the bodies of the University, the faculty and students. The Rector is assisted in the execution of his/her duties by the Vice-Rectors: Academic Affairs and Research and Innovation.
ResearchPhilips University prides itself of the research and scholarship of its academics. University teams from all departments have a strong research base, and work hard to find answers to international questions affecting us all.
